Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is an independent global health research center at the University of Washington that provides rigorous and comparable measurement of the world's most important health problems and evaluates the strategies used to address them. IHME makes this information freely available so that policymakers have the evidence they need to make informed decisions about how to allocate resources to best improve population health.

      IHME results, published in November 2010, provide a global assessment of trends in development assistance for health (DAH) from 1990 to 2008 and preliminary estimates for 2009 and 2010. The report, Financing Global Health 2010: Development Assistance and Country Spending in Economic Uncertainty, compiles contributions by all significant public and private channels of development assistance for improving health outcomes and strengthening health systems in low- and middle-income countries.
