Collection Methodology

We collect data via our proprietary, in-house developed web scraping technology, in addition to market surveys conducted by our survey team in our Shanghai research center. 

All research is data-driven with a fundamental overlay, informing clients as to what the data means, what's most important, what's accelerating and/or decelerating and why.

Regional Coverage

Our coverage is primarily focused on Greater China.

History

Our historical data differs depending on the research product. Some companies' datasets spans back to 2009 (including NetEase and Baidu) while other, more recent datasets date back to the start of 2016.

Cadence

We update the vast majority of our datasets on a monthly basis, though some research products are published weekly.
